Juice Fasting in a Nutshell

The best detailed demonstration of juice fasting is the documentary, "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead," which can be found on Netflix and on DVD, though there are some peoples' video diaries found on Youtube. Basically, you consume nothing but fresh juice, from vegetables and fruits, for an extended period of time.
Though it is OK to buy a bottled juice occasionally, many do have additives in them or are high in sugar. They are not as fresh as home-juiced either. Fresh juice literally has live nutrients that are 100% bioavailable. That means you body absorbs them immediately. One lady on the Internet referred to drinking her first juice as being like "swallowing twinkling stars." You can actually feel it! It's awesome.
A while back, I went on a three day juice fast and it went well. I am currently on a full 30 day juice fast to lose weight and fix potassium and vitamin D deficiencies recently discovered through bloodwork. I have been losing an average of a pound a day, for ten days. Explore my blog to see what the experience has been like. Recommend it to friends who are tired, stressed, overweight, or have high blood pressure. These are the problems that vanished for the creator of "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead." He went from morbidly obese (on numerous medications) to super-healthy in a short amount of time.
Though there are juice bars out there to swing in and grab a juice on the go; In order to juice in a cost-efficient way, you must purchase a juicer. I use almost the exact model used in the movie, but there are a wide variety of juicers available, of various qualities. A good place to research reviews and prices is Amazon.com. There are also ad links for some companies on my blog under "Purchasing a Juicer," here to the right.
When deciding what to juice, green juices are most recommended, with the highest nutritional value. Juicing your own ingredients insures that you will recieve the maximum nutrients your body needs to carry you through a long juice fast.
Green juices can mask nutritional powerhouses, like spinach and kale, with the sweet, tangy taste of Granny Smith apple and lime. You never even taste it. Your body would not feel so well if you tried to drink appple, orange and grape juice for a month! Green juices are the backbone of a juice fast.
There are numerous juice recipes out there. The Mean Grean Juice from the movie is most popular for juice fasting. I have a couple of versions on my blog to the right as well. There are also a swarm of others available on the Internet. You can sweeten it up to your liking. I find that you pretty much can drink all the green juice you can stand in a days' time, and still lose weight.
I think that covers it! Happy Juicing! Check my progress. Become a follower! Watch me cross the finish line!
