Well, it's the morning of day 10. I am almost one-third of the way through my 30 day juice fast. It has really been amazing. I have never lost so much weight so fast without being hungry. I have really enjoyed it.
I know a lot of people are skeptical about juice fasting and if its a healthy practice. My response, having gone 10 days now, is that it must be better for me than the drive-thru life I was leading. The food I used to eat had no real nutritional value, and I was going without any significant vegetables or fruits for months on end. That's how I ended up with potassium and vitamin D deficiencies recently. I can't wait to recheck my bloodwork to see how that's changed.
I always paired the greasy fast food with diet soda. Diet soda is one of the worst things you can consume on the planet, being tied to numerous health problems, including multiple sclerosis. I was drinking more than a 2-liter a day at times. After kicking the soda with this juice fast, I don't feel so toxic. I have more energy than I had on the caffiene, too. I used to be a miserable, moody addict, but now I'm free.
Juice fasting really does cause a lot of inner reflection. It mentally "takes you back." I just feel alive and focused on finding "the old me" that has been swallowed up in my obsession with food, buried under this fat. For years, I've worn clothes I don't like, just to attempt to flatter this figure I have had. Soon I can go shopping with the style that I want. It is really exciting. I already have clothes that are too big to continue wearing.
